2010 Volunteer Opportunities at Upper Crossing Site (5SH134)

Upper Crossing Site Investigations

Session 1A--June 6-June 11

Session 1B--June 13-June 18

Session 2--August 15-August 20

Paleocultural Research Group staff and members will spend three weeks working at the Upper Crossing site this season. During Session 1 we will investigate the Middle and Late Archaic deposits first encountered in 2009. Participants may sign up for either or both weeks of work. Session 2 will be devoted to mapping Late Prehistoric stone enclosures at several nearby sites. We encourage participants to arrive for their work session on Sunday and work through the week, although shorter stays are possible. We will camp adjacent to a Forest Service bunkhouse that is equipped with a kitchen and showers. Limited space (without hookups) is also available for trailers or small RVs.

For more information about the project, click here (current as of March 30, 2010).
